Award~winning pianist and composer who seeks to work collaboratively in the recording studio with like~minded artists, has successfully recorded and launched original piano compositions as well as vocal compositions.
Rebecca has had the privilege of working with such luminaries as Will Ackerman, Bobby McFarren, Stephen Schwartz, Neal Merrick Blackwood, Tony Levin, Jeff Haynes, Charlie Bisharat, Eugene Friesen, Average White Band, and The Guess Who to name a few.
Rebecca’s day job is that of principal pianist for the Northshore studios of
Boston Ballet School. Recently, her music has been the setting for two original Ballet compositions: “Chaplin” and “Farewell my Lovely” affording her the opportunity to collaborate with world class choreographer, Kevin Jenkins. Working within the ballet world has earned her critical acclaim for her modern compositions as well as her performance prowess.
Steeped in a spiritual tradition of music performance and writing, Rebecca claims a position as Music Director and performer for dozens of Boston area churches. She has continuously lived out her earliest teachings by “making music for the Lord” her personal mantra. To that end, her music video “The River of Life” was chosen to be performed in a live presentation at Massachusetts General Hospital at the Fundraising Gala for Frontal Temporal Dementia. A deeply spiritual tribute to Rebecca’s brother who recently passed away from this heartbreaking disease.
Not one to shy away from the technical aspects of a performance, Rebecca has been Producer, Director, Host and Performer for numerous theatrical productions. Most recently Rebecca proudly took on all of these responsibilities for
Enlightened Piano Radio’s 2019 Awards Ceremony presented at
Place des Arts in Montreal Canada.
Studio work has been Rebecca Harrold’s passion and life-long goal. Singing backgrounds for local original rock bands (Y.O.M.A.M.A and Eye to Eye) and recording piano compositions with
Will Ackerman, founder of Windham Hill Records, have been pivotal experiences for pursuing this goal.
Her Strengths are her ability to aptly translate human emotion into musical expression and capture the rawness of that experience instantly.
She develops and practices this trait by taking long walks in the forest, climbing mountains and combing beaches for natural treasures and trinkets from God.
